My mission is to shine the light of my magnificence out into the world, and to be a beacon and a model for others to do the same.
I consciously began my journey toward wholeness and enlightenment in 2000, when I left a 12 year career in retail, in which I had been very successful, in search of a career that would add greater meaning to my life. So far, that journey has led from retail to financial planning to coaching and speaking, and from Massachusetts to Hawaii and back.
In the fall of 2000 I became a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch. Shortly thereafter, I began working with a wonderful coach who helped me begin to move past my limiting beliefs about prosperity and success. She helped me begin to truly love myself, and perhaps most importantly, she introduced me to the concept of Reiki. For that, and for all our work together, I am grateful.
From March of 2001 through June of 2003, as I built my financial planning practice, I also studied Reiki with Cynthia Buffone and became a Reiki Master Teacher. Words can not express my deep gratitude and love for Cindy. Reiki helped facilitate deep and transformative changes in my life, and while it hasn't always been easy, or fun, I wouldn't change it for the world.
The Big Move
My two years in Hawai’i were a time of intense personal growth and transformation. I found myself stripped of everything I thought I was and discovered that Who I Really Am is far more expansive than anything I could have imagined. In learning to shine the light of my magnificence out into the world, I came to understand the deep truth of Marianne Williamson's quote:
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the Glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others"
For two years, with Dragonfly as my au'makua (spirit guide), I learned to shine the light of my magnificence into the world. I studied Huna, a Hawai'ian spiritual practice, I learned to chant and perform kahiko (ancient) hula. I co-facilitated my first retreat in the beautiful Wai'pio Valley with my dear friend Colleen. In May of 2005, I created the Abundance Chant, translated into Hawai'ian by Kumu Keala Ching. Kumu Keala is an amazing light in the world, spreading knowledge of Hawaiian culture through hula and chant all over the world.
In the summer of 2004, I sat for and passed the Certified Financial Planner exam. It was the culmination of three years of work, and without a doubt the most mentally challenging task I'd ever completed! I was officially awarded the title Certified Financial Planner' in October of 2004.
At the end of 2004, while still in Hawai’i, I left Merrill Lynch with the realization that I was an abundance coach. I had been coaching some of my clients around their relationship with money for the past four years and discovered that my true passion lay in empowering people around their relationships, rather than the more traditional planning practice.
Coming Back
2005 found us moving back to Massachusetts, despite my desire to live on Hawai’i for the rest of my natural life. While it was probably the most difficult thing I've ever had to do, it was the right decision. It has given my daughter the gift of being closer to her extended family, which was the impetus for the move. It has allowed my wonderful husband of 15 years to blossom into his most magnificent version of himself. And it has allowed me to build my practice in an area with tremendous opportunity for growth and expansion.
As my coaching practice deepened, I realized that I do as much healing and channeling in my work with clients as I do traditional coaching. This has also evolved into doing even more channeling and healing work. After all, if you could work with a regular person or an Ascended Master to help you break through limiting beliefs, who would you choose? :-)
It has been my experience that when I stop thinking that I have to know everything and be in charge, and allow Spirit to lead instead, that life is effortless, joyful and abundant. And that is my wish for all of us.
